
Max Gaertner is a percussionist, producer and author based in Frankfurt, Germany. As a specialist in contemporary music performance & (live-)electronics he collaborated with artists and ensembles such as Marina Abramoviç, Lynsey Peisinger, Ensemble Modern, Berliner Philharmoniker. Collaborations with renowned international artists and composers led to numerous world premieres as well as guest recordings on award winning records. His research in percussion techniques, electroacoustic music performance and education have been published by SCHOTT Music and ARE edition. In 2021 Max gained his doctoral degree (Dr. Phil.) for a research on performing eletroacoustic compositions for percussion. He received several scholarships and is currently teaching at the University of Hamburg. Max Gaertner is publishing music under his own name as well as aliases megks and Makkusu Tori. Besides producing his own music & sample packs he is also composing for film and the gaming industry.
