About Us
Echio was founded by two music superfans, Joakim Bouaziz and Tom Royer. Joakim is the founder of Tigersushi Records as well as a respected recording artist, DJ and producer. Tom is a diehard record collector and DJ, who daylights as a creative technologist for some of the world’s top digital agencies.
Echio was born when Joakim and Tom asked themselves:
- How can we create new sources of income for artists in a digital “culture industry” that channels most revenues to tech companies?
- How can we create meaningful connections between artists and fans in an era of algorithm-driven social media?
- How can we promote the virtuous circulation of artistic skills, knowledge, and experience?
Echio was created to empower artists and help them maintain control of their practices by:
- Providing an innovative monetising system within an interactive live-streaming platform, designed specifically for artists.
- Cultivating direct relationships between artists and fans through shared experience and real-time exchange.
- Empowering arts learning and teaching by eliminating technical and geographical barriers.
