Top tier feedback and and a very impressive turnaround time. Thank you so much for helping me get my track over the line. Your advice was gold dust. Will definitely hit you up again
Fejká brought a great perspective to this track. Detailed and thoughtful and full of real production and arrangement tips. He was down to earth and broke the song apart in a really helpful way. Helpful comments on sound design, pacing, arrangement and technical aspects.
10/10 insights
10/10 mentoring
It's impressive how you extracted the key problems of the track and offered solutions for them in a really focussed way. It really helped a ton and will improve also future productions. 100% recommendation.
Cheers, Maxism
Hello Nick & Alfie, Sorry its taken me some time to get back to you! I have watched the video feedback. I have taken note of the vocal clashing and patterns. I have also really reviewed the breakdown / build up section and will try add or subtract to build more tension can definately hear more in the breakdown. For the Piano will probably try the Solina strings and use a 303 type sound or different stabs for B section drop. Overall pleased that this version is improved and will be sending another version once i apply the feedback thank you for the in depth review and speak very soon. Kesh
Hello Nick mate, Wicked to get your video feedback and transcript Im really sorry to hear about Alfie hope he is okay and gets well soon mate! I have watched the full feedback and taken my own notes. I am using Logic Prox for the project well spotted and have taken notes on the levels for the Kick and the Kick & Bass not quite gelling properly that could be the Kick causing issue or sidechaining possibly? For the vocal sections i did use Flex pitch to correct the pitch based on your previous feedback but will try adjusting the 'Oh Yeah' vocal so good shout !
For the arrangement and composition your right about the Long Pad it could come earlier say 2mins and then have a melodic part with a lower pad in the dropdown. Also i could sidechain the PADS for movement thats just a thought. I will work on the dropdown section and breakdown and try adding the SOLINA (haha) Strings i love them so could layer that with a different pad maybe would give it a nice rave vibe in E Flat Minor.
So really i just need to sort out the levels in general and get it all balanced the Kick was set around 6dB with compression and saturation so maybe coming in to hot! I will work on adding some more ravey elements that will get this song closer to being a final version.
I will apply the feedback and see if i can get the breakdown to flow better and and sort the other points out really super helpful mate and of course really appreciate this as always i really love your music since Flo Jam love how your have evolved your tunes.
Cheers
Kesh
Thanks for the feedback, Kevin!
I will defintely try to add some rides in the background and bring more character to the synths with some analog drive! Thanks for the tips.
Cheers
Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it. I included a few questions in my submission that Kidnap answered in a really clear, helpful and constructive way.
I expect I'll be back with another submission and more questions as I continue the (enjoyable) grind later down the line. Thanks again
Really great feedback, thanks so much Jon! I'm going to work on those points and it's just given be that bit of energy, momentum and focus I needed.
Very much appreciated. Legend!
So glad I discovered this platform. I used to go and see Dusky when I was at uni about 10 years ago and feel blessed to have some form of direct line of contact with them via my music.
The feedback on my mix was good and on time from the boys and I will be using them again. I think maybe I introduced a little bit of confusion when I said I didn't have access to the project (but what I meant was I don't have access to the production file (I still have the stems on separate tracks in mixdown project) - so I could have been a bit clearer on this my end. The most helpful bits for me personally were when they provided an additional layer of detail - like what slopes to use on an EQ to prevent phasing in the low end, how to prevent resonance build up whilst protecting the dynamics of the track, specific M/S EQ moves that would protect the brightness of the track whilst reducing hissing in the sides etc, how to add some top end to the track with some specific moves on certain buses/tracks rather than just adding a shelf to the mixbus. This is really the level of detail I needed to hear. I also felt a bit confused on the settings I needed to supply my track at for mastering and dusky cleared up some things I felt a bit worried/unclear about.
Additionally, what I found super useful was getting their take on the one most important thing I should address VS what the mastering engineer will probably address. This was helpful to me because I'd rather a mastering engineer make some of the changes over me, given that they'd do a better job. I've been noodling around with various things for weeks so it gave me a sense of relief in that sense.
Moving forward I would use Dusky again for mixdown feedback and I'm keen to get their feedback on the development of tracks too.
Cheers boys, appreciate your time!
Thank you so much for the thoughtful and detailed feedback!
I really appreciate how you touched on everything—from chord progression to mix quality and overall arrangement. Super helpful! And big thanks as well for the plugin and label recommendations. I’m definitely going to apply your advice and improve the track further!
Great feedback, thanks Vonda! Really useful little bits and pieces there I can implement in my next session. Thanks again! Any label recommendations always appreciated!
Good points here, Budakid covered various areas I was looking for and ideas I hadn't considered in the feedback, Will use many of these ideas to finish the song!
Second time sending in to these guys. Very detail oriented and able to pick out issues I had with pitched down vocals. They always give great advice and possible ideas to help get the track the last 10%! Thanks again guys, more tracks coming soon!
Such excellent and detailed feedback, made me analyze some elements in my track from an angle which I didn't consider. Really appreciate all the tips guys - thank you!
Thank you guys for some very in depth insight. As a new producer I still have a lot of experimenting to try and a lot more hours to put in so I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction with it.
Amazing feedback! Very in depth insight breaking down exactly what I was looking for to get the track to stand out! Definitely sending loads more to these guys! Cheers!
Excellent feedback again, I’ve actually cancelled my membership to another feedback platform I used previously because duskys feedback is so much better
Hey guys !
Wow. That was really in depth! I was expecting a 30 second video of more bullet points rather than a whole depth into the process of creating and I salute you highly for taking the time for the feedback. It really does a long way in growing as an artist so I really appreciate it.
i also haven’t gotten it mastered yet nor mixed and levels/equalising stuff has never been my forte. That being said I’m happy that that’s one of the takeaways and also thanks for the juxtaposition comments I do agree.
I’d love to send you the track when it’s a bit more finalised. Would I have to send it through here again ?
Bless,
Seb
Thank you for your very thorough feedback. You've brought up some very good points that I wasn't aware of. I'm still struggling a bit to update the drums and make them cleaner. I had to let the track rest and come back to it with fresh ears. I'll be happy to submit an updated version once I'm happy with the result. Your comments and suggestions are definitely very helpful, thanks and all the best!
Well...can I give more than 5 stars? I really need to! Jon's feedback was spot on, addressing all the issues i raised - and very quickly and in the nicest way you possible an imagine too! His advise was extremely helpful and took my project to a whole new level. Highly recommended! If you are doing anything just remotely in the area of breaks / electronica, there is no match to Jon. Kudos to you, Mr. Gurd!
Hey Nick & Alfie, thank you so much for this valuable feedback! It's incredibly helpful. I was really in a bind wondering what to do next, but know exactly now how to approach it:
- enhance the space (reverb/delay sends) for drums, and bass (never thought of that!)
- rearrange to bring the big moment earlier to maintain the listeners' attention (and even shorten the track)
- Bring out the vocals more (I was always torn on this sample. Might find something different in this case)
I truly was blown away by this feedback. Will definitely be sending more tunes in :)
Also looking forward to your stop in Chicago! I'll be on support that night. Don't worry, I'll be complementing your label sound that night. Congrats on 10 years!
Thank you for the in-depth feedback guys, it's really appreciated. This is a track I've been unable to make my mind up on for a while now which is why I sought out your thoughts on it. You've helped me notice things I never would have considered by myself which is great! Will definitely take on board your comments and will get back to the drawing board with this one I think. Probably end up making something completely different with some of the more stronger elements haha. Will certainly look to send over the new and improved version once it's ready. Thanks again!
Amazing, thank you for those tips guys im definitely going to make those changes. Really appreciate the detailed feedback from the mix to the structure really good stuff thanks again. And For sure if you all ever need vocals I would love to jump on!! Thanks again guys!!
Tremendously valuable feedback and insight. Really enjoyed the video response format. It felt organic and personal, and Jon touched on all the points I mentioned, very nicely done. A great experience & well worth it. Thanks again Jon!
Thank you very much for your kind words Joseph! There were not too many points to work on but that is obviously a good thing! You have given me faith in my work and provided me the motivation to continue in the same direction. Will definitely send demos to in the future. Thank you Joseph

Frequently asked questions
Music feedback
The artist records a private video breaking down your track — mix, arrangement, sound design, or whatever you ask them to focus on. It lands in your inbox and you can watch it whenever you want, as many times as you like.
Early sketches are often the most valuable to get feedback on, before you get lost in too many iterations — but finished tracks work too if you want a second opinion or to get on the artist’s radar.
MP3 or WAV, any length. Add a note and links when you upload so the artist knows exactly what to focus on.
Most feedback arrives within a few days. If the artist hasn’t responded within 7 days, you’re automatically refunded.
You can swap the track as long as the artist hasn’t listened yet. After that you can cancel the request for a refund and start a new one.
Yes — you send a private message on the feedback page and the artist will get your comment.
