Jonas von der Fehr, better known as Fehrplay manages a rare feat in dance music with his scintillating productions, finding that carefully balanced sweet spot between visceral emotion and refinement. His music lifts, soothes and transports, but never resorts to the overblown excess of so much of modern dance-floor material. Sitting in the venn diagram overlap between melodic techno and progressive house, Fehrplay first found fame with his Pete Tong supported track ‘Meow’, then as part of Eric Prydz’s Pryda Friends label before being picked up by Deadmau5 and Anjunabeats to global fanfare. Since then he has been deepening and sharpening his sound, continually impressing and evolving while touring the world with his engrossing DJ sets which take in plenty of lesser-known lost gems as well as cutting-edge sounds and his own studio produce. Fehrplay’s always-evolving live set ‘Arkadia’ which combines a hardware live set with stunning visuals is mesmerizing audiences around the world.
