Ayesha's feedback was excellent, I have now a better overview of many different aspects of my track because of the super helpful tips given!! Can totally recommend <3
Thanks for the feedback! It was really motivating to hear I'm on the right track and I totally see what you mean by getting a bit more high end energy and adding some subtle variations. I'll also sit down and try to do a cleaner mixdown so the bass punches through without getting too muddy. Super helpful, thanks again.
Hi Ayesha , Thank you for the thoughtful and constructive feedback. All your points have resonated and they are suggestions that I will keep in mind moving forward. If I could send a refresh of the track I would ! it's all baked in as i always write in one take. That said I agree about the energy dissipating toward the end and it would be something I could tend to if it were an open project. Given this way of writing is somewhat spontaneous it comes with its compromises and that in of itself is what draws me to the live element, nothing is always quite how you might choose it to be in an isolated moment, but you go with your most immediate and instinctive decisions in the process. I find I often surprise myself with the result , and it is not what I'd imagined it would be when I hear the individual elements. You seemed to take time to understand the emotion of the music which I appreciated and it is interesting to hear from your point of view what that evokes. Although I make mostly faster broken beat music with hopefully a UK feel (based here and from here - hope you are enjoying Hackney) This was something I made with a nod to dub, as you say, as I'll always try to retain that sound as a main influence. prob one of my favourite tracks for the softness and groove again as you mentioned. I appreciated the note taking. I liked that you broke it down in that way. It is the sequence and programming of sounds and live sets that I continually try to improve, so to have your input is useful. Frankly to ask someone to give full attention to your music and to receive honest, concise evaluation is a great way of learning, if you can be open to it... and yes vulnerable. All ego aside. I was not sure what to expect submitting a track and it has been a worthwhile endeavour and with much to take away. I agree I think some form of development on the UI or platform would be welcomed so discourse can continue about track development and progress, if necessary. All the best and thanks again. I wish you well for future creativity :)
Ayesha's feedback was very kind, specific, and constructive!! I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to get some talented ears on a track I'm excited about, and I can't wait to get to the studio with some of these notes in mind - thank you so much!!
