The Jordanian DJ and producer blurs the lines between process and authenticity with performance and innovation by bringing together different styles and approaches to music production. Steeped in traditional Jordanian music, Toumba, aka Yazan Zyadat, aims to push this sound further, combining progressive machine drums and electronic bass club music with Middle Eastern rhythms and melodies. Releases on Hessle Audio and Nervous Horizon, among others, have catapulted him into the spotlight as one of the most talked-about producers around. A fierce DJ talent too, his mixes often include many of his distinctive creations, and have landed him on some of the biggest electronic music festivals such as Primavera Sound & Dekmantel. Always a Toumba set staple – staggered broken beats, robust sub-bass, and ludicrously infectious rhythms that carry on the hardcore continuum.
