
MC Carol is one of the most important names in funk carioca. Known for songs like “Minha Vó Tá Maluca”, first presented on DVD from funk carioca's pioneer label Furacão 2000, MC Carol became popular among the general public in 2015, when she participated in “Lucky Ladies”, a FOX reality show. In 2016, she released “Bandida”, her first album, and gained attention for singing themes such as the reality of the favelas, sexuality and feminism. With this work, Carol showed that funk can be used as a weapon, singing about resistance and power on her lyrics. From this album, hits such as “Não foi Cabral”, “Detação Premiada” and “100% Feminista” emerged. In 2021 MC Carol release her second studio album, "Mulher do Borogodó", an ode to all the genres rooted in favelas Brazil-wide.
