About

Travis Stewart has released music as Machinedrum since his 2001 debut Now You Know. Across 25 years, he has built a wide-ranging electronic catalog spanning hip-hop, footwork, jungle, UK bass, and experimental club music, unified by intricate percussion and melodic depth. His albums include Room(s), Vapor City, Human Energy, A View of U, and 3FOR82. Collaborative projects Sepalcure with Praveen Sharma aka Braille, and J-E-T-S with Jimmy Edgar further established him as a prolific collaborator in electronic music. He has worked with Tinashe, Arca, Freddie Gibbs, Cobrah, and Azealia Banks among others. He has also contributed music to film and games including Totenwald, Ashima, Grand Theft Auto V and NBA 2K22. Born in North Carolina, Stewart spent formative years in New York City and Berlin before relocating to Los Angeles in 2015. BL00MS Mini-LP marks his first release on IAMSIAM following a 13-year partnership with Ninja Tune, returning to the independent model where he began.

Early sketches are often the most valuable to get feedback on, before you get lost in too many iterations — but finished tracks work too if you want a second opinion or to get on the artist’s radar.
