Debit is a composer, producer, and performer whose work spans avant-garde experimentation, global club mutations, and site-specific art. Her practice bridges conceptual composition with visceral performance, merging cultural depth and bold sonic form. Since 2017, she has redefined Latin American club music’s global reception, pushing underground sounds into dialogue with techno, bass, and experimental electronics. Her albums Animus, System, and The Long Count (The Guardian’s #3 Best Global Album of 2022) expanded electronic music’s vocabulary through AI reconstructions of pre-Hispanic wind instruments. Her upcoming Desaceleradas (Modern Love, 2025) reimagines 1990s cumbia rebajada from Monterrey using ARP 2600 synthesis, accordion, and granular processes. As a DJ, she blends guaracha, tribal, club and raptor house with techno and hard drum.
