“Thank you for the top notch feedback! The djing your tracks (even at home) advice really makes sense to me now and how you can see how complete it is when mixing it into other tracks. I was given advice on how to add more variations within my track and to be weary of common cliches. I was also given a great book recommendation of which I already own funny enough. Looking forward to diving back into that and taking actionable steps to push this forward. Thanks Ciel!”

Thanks for the feedback - it was very helpful and professional, and also answered to my questions, while even giving ideas how to create more tension and spice for the track. I'm still working on a new version and will send it for a second round.

Thanks so much for your feedback! I ran out of space to mention it before, but I am 100% untrained in music theory so that is definitely always a hurdle I’m working around. I feel like I usually fall into a similar spot where I can create interesting drum patterns but struggle a lot more making compelling melodies. I think the book you suggested will be a big help so I’m looking forward to keeping this on hand going forward. Thanks again :)

Frequently asked questions

Music feedback

Ciel records a private video breaking down your track — mix, arrangement, sound design, or whatever you ask them to focus on. It lands in your inbox and you can watch it whenever you want, as many times as you like.
Early sketches are often the most valuable to get feedback on, before you get lost in too many iterations — but finished tracks work too if you want a second opinion or to get on the artist’s radar.
MP3, WAV or AIF, any length. Add a note and links when you upload so Ciel knows exactly what to focus on.
Most feedback arrives within a few days. If Ciel hasn’t responded within 7 days, you’re automatically refunded.
You can swap the track as long as Ciel hasn’t listened yet. After that you can cancel the request for a refund and start a new one.
Yes. Once your feedback is delivered, you’ll find a private message option on your request page. Use it to ask the artist a follow-up question or get clarification on something they mentioned in the video.
