You can now send your demos to artists on Echio and receive a personal video feedback, and who knows... maybe sign on their label or get played in their DJ sets!
1. Find the artist you want to send a demo to on Echio.co.
2. Send your demo (Soundcloud link only) with a short message for the artist.
3. Receive a personal feedback video from the artist.
4. Write a review of the artist's feedback if you were happy about it (or not ;-)
You can go to the ARTISTS page and filter the result by genre or to display only artists who accept Demo submissions.
You can only send a Soundcloud link to a single track. No albums or playlists. Please make sure you send a working Soundcloud link (if you send a private track for instance, make sure you send the proper private link). If you made a mistake, you can edit the link after sending your request.
You will receive a feedback message as a video recorded by the artist. In order to make sure the artist gives you the most useful feedback possible, use the message box when submitting your request to give the artist some info : some context, why you're sending this demo, what sort of answer you expect etc. Each feedback video should be at least 2 minutes long. More info on what to expect
Artists have 30 days to answer your Demo Feedback request. After that your request is automatically canceled and you'll be refunded. We can't say exactly when artists will respond within that time frame. Keep in mind some are busier than others, some might be on tour or in a long studio session, so it might take a few days.
Yes, you can cancel any pending request from the Demo Feedback page in your account and you will be automatically refunded.
When you receive a feedback answer from an artist, you'll be notified by email. You will also be notified by email if an artist cancels a request, with a short message from the artist.
There's a fee to submit a demo to an artist. The minimum price is 1500 Tokens ($15) and price depends on the artist. As usual 80% of the money goes to the artists. But they can also choose to donate 50% of their fees to a charity fund promoting musical education, in which case it will be indicated.
If your Demo Feedback request is not answered within 30 days, your tokens will be automatically refunded. The artist can also cancel a Demo Feedback request in which case you will also be automatically refunded.
Yes. Simply click on "Leave a comment" on the Demo Feedback card and the artist will receive your message.
There's a link to a short survey in the email notifying you about the artist's response. Use this link to tell us what you liked or disliked about the artist's response and the Demo Feedback feature in general.
No, signing up is totally free and we do have some free content, Videos on Demand or Live Sessions if the artist decides to make a free access one. Once you have an account, you can buy Tokens that you can use to access paid content. Keep in mind that the point of Echio is to support artists with a very fair payment system without using ads. That's why 80% of what you pay goes to the artist.
Anyone can attend live sessions. There are sessions for beginners as well as sessions for people already familiar with creating music. You can see the level of every session, set by the artist, on the live page.
Echio is open to to every artist, whether youβre in the very beginning of your career or at the top of your game, whether youβre from the underground or a mainstream star, youβre welcome to join Echio and start live-streaming. Our only criteria is that you're a "professional artist" meaning that your art practice is not just a hobby, it's an integral part of your life and you have already released/shown works to the public.
For now, yes.
Please send us a message here and we'll help you.
First of all, Echio is not necessarily about creating new content, it's about showing what you already do. And it doesn't matter if you're not a technician, what's most interesting for fans is how you do things your way. Of course, you can create elaborated courses on specific topics, like a real teacher, and that requires some preparation, but you can also just show how you work, talk about your routines or not talk at all if that's your thing ;-)
As soon as an artist announces a new Live Session you can buy tickets. You can also buy a ticket to access a Session while it is on-going. You will need to purchase Tokens to buy tickets (100 Tokens = $1).
Yes, everything on Echio is live. But if you can't make it or missed a Live Session you wanted to attend, artists can decide if they want to make that Session available as a VOD (Video On Demand), so don't forget to check Echio regularly.
Please check that you have a good internet connection, especially the download speed. You can test it here : https://www.speedtest.net. If the issue is not the internet speed, send us a message here.
Tokens are a virtual currency you can use on Echio for every paid interaction and purchase. Think of it as casino chips. 100 tokens = $1 USD.
You can use your Tokens to buy tickets for paid sessions and interact with the artist.
It is not a cryptocurrency at the moment. It is only used within Echio and has no value outside of it. It is possible that we turn it into a blockchain cryptocurrency in the future if that serves a real purpose on the platform, for the users and mostly for the artists.
